Staring out at the mighty Pacific ocean has always made me feel like I am meeting my maker. Heaven on earth. The way the water slams into land stopping me in my tracks is one of the reasons I was lured out of the desert to become an all out believer in the mesmerizing and transcendent power of the ocean.
So when the rainy skies passed over on Sunday morning revealing the brilliant afterglow that February in LA can bring, we headed out to the water for our wagie ride for Tuesday.
There's no need to ramble on...for the proof is here. There were signs everywhere that our time together was blessed from above. We rolled in our shiny new red wagon as we always do - without a specific plan or a time limit or a path.
The beauty unfolded before our eyes making our hearts swell with gratitude for the bounty of gifts we have been given.
Time stood still as we watched our kids run free like spirits in the wind...barefoot and twirling, imaginations unleashed, a literal dance with nature.
This was our gift from Tuesday.
Behold.
Just beautiful!!

ReplyDeleteMy wagie ride picture was an epic fail. But...I did tell my kids about the story, and they were all thinking about it when we were downtown...and my oldest said, "I'll say a prayer for her family, mom."
So we were there, in spirit...

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day!
Oh man, what I wouldn't give to be right at the ocean with some sand and a few palm trees. Oh, and I love the wagie rides. I only get around to actually reading blogs about once every couple weeks so I always miss out on the good stuff! Since I heard about Tuesday my little terrorist is still praying for her. He hasn't quite grasped the concept that she's gone.
